Quixel Bridge is a desktop application that serves as a supporting tool for browsing, searching, downloading, importing and exporting Megascans assets. Bridge is also a content management system custom made to serve our Megascans users.
For the user manual, please open Bridge, open Help > User Manual.
Features
- Cross-platform
The new Bridge app is available on all major platforms: Windows, MacOS and Linux.
- Auto Import
Automatically unzips downloaded Megascans materials from multiple configurable locations (local, network, usb) to a configurable repository.
- Efficient and Seamless Browsing and Searching
Browse, search and download assets just like on the Megascans website, but in a more lightweight, fast and feature-rich manner.
- Batch Download Multiple Assets
Acquire and download assets directly from Bridge. Batch select and download multiple assets using the multi-select feature.
- Batch Export Multiple Assets
Select multiple assets to batch export to the software of your choice. The export tab dynamically exposes settings for any selected asset types.
- High-res Asset Previews
View preview images, 3D previews, maps in all resolutions, LODs, and asset variations in full detail before downloading or exporting, right inside Bridge.
- Enterprise setup of Megascans and Bridge
Bridge Sync gives artists a first-class Megascans experience even when they aren’t connected to the internet or when they don’t have dedicated machines.
It makes the entire Megascans library instantly available over your local network through Bridge. The library is always updated with the latest assets added every day through a background syncing operation.
For more information on how to set it up refer this Quixel Bridge for Enterprise document.
- Exports for All Major Tools and Renderers
Quixel Bridge supports export to all major tools and renders (game engine, modeling software or renderer).
Currently, the most comprehensive support is available for Windows.
More tools will be integrated into Bridge as and when they become available across different platforms.
The export functionality currently supports the following tools and renderers.
Tools
-
- Unreal Engine 4
- Unity 3d
- 3D Studio Max
- Autodesk Maya
- SideFX Houdini
- Blender
- Maxon Cinema 4D
- Isotropix Clarisse
- Marmoset TB3
Custom Export Support
Bridge is fully extensible and allows you to write custom exporters that export the assets using either one, or both of the following methods:
- Export the asset data to a specific folder
- Export the asset information as JSON data to a specific port
This is how all default exporters that ship with Quixel Bridge have been authored, and you can use these as a reference when building your own custom exporter(s).
