Quixel Bridge allows you to import both custom and Megascans assets into your asset library.
You can either select your asset folders and zipped files from the File → Import Folders or File → Import Zipped Files in the menu bar. Or simply drag and drop them into Bridge.
❗Note: on Mac OS File → Import will show slightly differently but will work the same way as explained above.
Import Settings show you the default import settings for every asset you have selected to import. It allows you to edit your asset details like name, type, category, and subcategory. You can also add tags to your imported assets. Additionally, you can specify which file represents which map in the import settings. When you are importing Megascans assets, you cannot edit these settings, but can view them.
Import UI
Import Settings Dialog
The import settings dialog allows you to set up the import options for different assets in case the fields were not marked correctly.
- Side Panel - the side panel lists all the assets that are to be imported. Megascans assets have the Megascans logo next to them so that you can differentiate between Megascans and external assets.
- General Settings - here you can specify the name, type, category and sub-category of the assets. The resolution field is auto-detected and cannot be edited. Here, you can also add the tags.
- Maps Settings - this section allows you to edit the maps guessed in case the assets imported are not Megascans assets.
- Previews - here you can see all the previews of the assets, and in the case of external assets can also change and specify your own preview file. The first preview is what you see as the thumbnail when the assets are imported in Bridge.
Once the assets are imported, Megascans assets appear in the Downloaded filter, while the non-Megascans assets appear in the External filter in Bridge.
