Gorgeous work, Nick! How much of this is procedural vs how much is Megascanned?

Thanks Jonathan! It's all Megascanned. It is the two materials I mentioned stacked with the liquid layer. However, I duplicated the moss layer to change up the positioning a bit. From there it was just a matter of making minor adjustments until I felt that it looked right.

Nice! I'd love to see you consider tackling this with more of a focus on procedural masks, just as a learning experiment - then blend scanned data over what you've created. Sound interesting? I can even help walk you through it if you'd like!

Yeah that'd be great! Thanks! I just started with Mixer last week so I'm sure there's a lot I can learn.

    Hey Jonathan,

I tried a more procedural approach with masks as seen below. My problem with it is that the main gray/stone component just looks too flat to me. What do you think and what could I try differently?

I think it's a pretty solid start! What you should consider doing is making the stones push out just a bit further, and then overlay some additional high frequency noise on them to simulate the rock-like surface that lies beneath the moss and liquid layers.
