Hi, thank you for your report. Could you share with us your Mixer Log file please? This will allow our developers to have a look at what does Mixer do when being lunched. You can upload it online and share the download link here, it is just a log .txt file.

    • Windows: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Quixel\Quixel Mixer\Player.log
    • MacOS: ~/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log

Did you try on another laptop? Could it be a firewall or similar limitation from your workspace?

Looking forward to the Mixer Log File and any helpful additional information.

    Best,
    Jin

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately that folder does not exist either in my user path directory or in my admin account directory. I am going to try to see if I can run this on my personal computer to remove any and all hardline restrictions we have on our work machines. I am beginning to wonder if this is network security vs creative freedom.

Edit: Conformed that Mixer starts without issue on my personal computer.

I discovered I had an older version of Mixer that I had never installed, so I tried it. Oddly enough that version works. It is 2018.2.4.0. Only when I upgrade to the most recent version does the program fail to launch on this particular machine.

The version of windows I am on is 1809. Windows updates are not something I can control on this machine as they are controlled and released by IT.

The version of windows on my personal machine where the latest version of mixer runs fine is 1903.

This seems to be a specific issue related to your work space/pipeline at work. Without the player log file and any technical information, this will most likely be impossible for us to troubleshoot.

I'll create a ticket where we will give a closer look at your case and privately (via email).

    Apology for any inconvenience.

    Best,
    Jin
