Recently I've been playing around with the distort blend mode trying to understand how it works. I love the effect but I'm struggling to understand it's inner workings, and as a result I use a lot of trial and error to get the look I'm after.
As far as I can tell it sort of 'pushes' the values down the slope defined by the gradient (if that makes sense!), but I'm finding it difficult to get predictable results when trying to create larger forms. If anyone has some insight that would be great.
