    I was able to fix it using by installing an old version, logging in and then installing a new version. 

    You can use the link in this forum post to download a working old version.

    That being said, this is just a work around.

    QM 2019.2.3 stuck on splash too. Player.txt on AppData:

    On my Imac, the Mixer version  2019.1.0.0 work but unable to update.
    The message:
    Unable to open "Quixel Mixer" file because Apple can not verify if it contains any malware.
    I closed BitDefender but no success.

    Finally it works.

    I reinstalled old version and logged in in online mode.

    Then installed th new version and it was done ...
