Mixer stuck on searching for assets step 1 of 4
AnsweredI downloaded mixer yesterday and got to install it. Unfortunately, whenever I launch it I get stuck on this screen "searching for assets step 1 of 4" and it doesn't change.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Hi,
The reason we ask users to send us an email directly is because every error does not have a quick-fix response. In Samson's case, just like every other such issue, we need to review the log file/s and identify what might be causing the issue. I hope that clarifies on why we insist on direct emails instead of forum responses.
For your information, the following was what was recommended and fixed the issue for the above specific user:
"It seems that when Mixer was first installed, in your Mixer settings (that you can access by opening Mixer, Edit -> Preferences), you have specified the Mixer Files path to D:/. Please create a separate folder within that D:/ directory, where Mixer can store and access all your projects, and reset the folder location in the Preferences tab accordingly.
Additionally, please make sure that the Local Library path points to the same file path as set in Bridge, so Mixer can have access to your asset repository (i.e. your Megascans library). You may double-check the correct path by opening Bridge, Edit -> Settings and checking the specified Local Library path.
Once this is done, please re-launch Mixer and let me know if the problem persists."If in your case the error persist, send me an email at support@quixel.se and I'd be happy to go through the log file and hopefully come up with a fix for your issue.
Best regards.

I had the same problem and the culprit was a downloaded Atlas that (I think) got corrupted. I found out that moving the folder of that asset required me Admin rights. Despite I was logged as Admin I couldn't move or delete the file. Here is what I did to fix it:
1.- Renamed the folder that contains the library
2.- Delete the C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Quixel\Quixel Mixer\Settings folder to reset the paths.
3.- Start Mixer and when it asks for the library, I set the original folder name (not existing at this moment).
4.- Copy all assets from the old renamed folder to the new one. If you have the same problem that I had, one or more assets will show an error when you try to move them. Delete the offending asset folder (as you can, I had to do it internally via Server).
5.- After the copy is completed start Mixer and Refresh Library.
After this, it was running again.
Best, -
Hi,
Please update your settings to point to your updated library in Edit > Preferences. In case the issue persists, please refer to https://help.quixel.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360009470097-GUIDE-Creating-a-proper-Support-Request.
