Hello! I've created a support ticket. Our support team will be with you as soon as possible, via email.

Thanks pal, I'll try to remember post results for the benefit of others here if I get it resolved.

I have the same problem as described by Morza.

Also, it's not very helpful to find in a forum an answer like "look at the ticket".

Please share your progress here, or tell me where can I open a ticket too if the first one is not possible.

    So, let me recap.

This is a forum of a service where the cheapest account is 19$ per month, where  the moderator does not answer in the thread but tells you to look at the ticket. But instead of a ticket there is the skype's handle of the developer?
    Seriously?

    Hey everyone,

The following method solved my specific issue on MY SPECIFIC MACHINE. I know close to nothing about coding, so proceed at your own risk and make sure you back up everything.

With a code editor (TextWrangler), I loaded up the MS Live Link blender plugin code located here: ~/Library/Application Support/Blender/2.81/scripts/addons/MSLiveLink/__init__.py

I did a simple search and replace for ‘localhost’ to '127.0.0.1' (including apostrophes), then hit save…

That's it! When I tried to send assets into Blender it immediately works as expected.

It's important to note that the majority of support tickets being solved in relation to the Blender plugin on this forum have to do with people forgetting the crucial step of (inside Blender) hitting Import->Megascans LiveLink after installing the plugin and every time you restart Blender BEFORE trying to send stuff over from Bridge. This was NOT my issue.

I've passed this info on to the developer, who was extremely kind and helpful and was working to help me solve this issue when I stumbled upon this solution.

I've encountered the same problem with blender 2.81a

    windows 10,

    3700x ryzen

    32gb ram

    nvidia 2070rtx super

I've followed all the install steps exactly, and hit  Import->Megascans LiveLink after installing the plugin, replaced 'localhost' with '127.0.0.1', keeping the port number at 28888 (as it came installed) so that both lines that contain 'localhost' in the __init__ file read

    host, port = '127.0.0.1', 28888

restart both programs, hit export on an asset, and it says exported succesfully, but nothing shows up in blender, only a single half-configured shader for that asset (missing a normal map and displacement shader connection). Again, no 3d asset shows up, only a new material, that I have to go into the materials tab to discover that its been created, otherwise blender shows no sign of responding to the export button in Bridge

    What can I do?

Hmm, I don't have anything helpful to suggest except to point out that my issue was that literally nothing was being send to Blender. Bridge and Blender weren't talking to each other at all. So I feel like you're having a separate issue.

Just for your information guys, we do not support non-official public releases, such as daily/nightly/beta builds (generally speaking).

edapx Our email support is the best place for both users and us regarding customer and technical support. We use a special email ticketing system for maximum efficiency. We are able to more easily share private information with our users as we want to respect their privacy as much as possible! This include: Emails, Names, anything related to their computer that is private etc.

We sometimes offer assistance via Skype, if the user has Skype and agree too. This is absolutely not a case that is happening commonly but it's an option if needed! edapx Please, let us know if you've had any technical issues and we will do our best to help.

I'm personally running the latest Blender from their website to this day and have no issue with the LiveLink. Please, try 2.8 non-beta or Blender 2.81 non-beta and let us know!

We tested blender-2.81a and indeed, it works but doesn't import all the maps. We do not provide an update before the release of a software but after.

Kindly wait for a plugin update and keep an eye out for news and future announcements!

    Best,
    Jin

    • I managed to reproduce the issue: I'm using ACEScg and this is not supported by our LiveLink and broke it basically. If you are using ACES with a or a custom OCIO environment variable, this might cause the issue!

    • Second thing: could you (everyone who has the issue) go to Blender menu > Windows > Console log > copy paste everything you see in here (the forum) ?

I confirm having the issue with using ACES color space. I hope Quixel team can fix this problem soon!

Hi filibis, please create new threads instead of bumping an eight month old thread. Thank you!
