Custom Decal Import
Hello, Mixer lacks the feature of importing custom decals which is essential in working with atlasses.
Basically Quixel Atlasses become unusable without the possibility to import custom variations of them.
Why not make a general custom import where you can choose wether you want a decal or surface?
To maybe make it easier to understand:
The workflow with Atlasses for me is:
>Import Atlas maps into PS
>Cutout the parts of the atlas I want for every map
>Export the isolated parts into different folders
Now I want to import these maps into Mixer/Bridge using the opacity map to create a custom decal. So far there's the workaround to import the map as an image-mask, but this is unaffected by transform modifiers, so not really viable. The paintlayer lacks the option do add custom layers like translucency or a normal map. Not viable either.
The only option to create real decals from atlasses is to recreate a json file with switched filenames. I mean it's a ridiculous amount of work only to get one isolated piece from an atlas into bridge/mixer as a decal. IMO this is a quite high-priority feature as atlasses are a integral part of the megascans library and are unnecessarily crippled due to lack of import options. It shouldn't be hard to fix either, as I read from a quixel employee on polycount that this feature has already been in Mixer but was scrapped for whatever reason.
Thanks in advance!

To have a temporary solution, I wrote a little Importer, availible here:
