Low FPS issues when painting (and other bugs)
AnsweredHey, just like to say I am very glad you guys finally got to release mixer 2020! congratulations to all the quixel team!
Feedback wise the software is pretty great, but it's nearly impossible to use the paint layer and the mask paint layer because as soon as I start painting the FPS drops down so much I am unable to accurately paint/mask what I want to. ( maybe it would help the team to know that the stuttering/FPS drops are lessened when the paint layer is on top of the stack, and it gets extremely slow if it is inside a smart material/group, and the closer it is to the bottom of the stack the bigger the FPS drops when painting. Sometimes the paint mask won't work when inside a smart material/group).
Also, for whatever reason sometimes when I activate either paint modes (layer or mask), the cursor just vanishes and the software starts glitching, such as not being able to use any sliders.
There is another bug on the paint mode, when I use the Eraser, it just draws Displacement/Normals over the brush, while erasing the albedo/metal/rough layers as expected, but this makes erasing Displacement I just painted completely impossible.
This is making the whole experience extremely frustrating

If you're running into FPS issues while painting, be sure that you place the layer to be painted above all others and/or hide all other layers while painting. Mixer runs real-time curvature calculations as you adjust anything related to displacement/normals. It will run significantly slower if it needs to calculate multiple layers using curvature data simultaneously.
