I was experimenting with this today and here's one way to do it.

I've made 2 versions of my tiles and then rotated them.

    Here's Tile 1:

    Here's tile 2:

Then I added a Scatter and Projection modifier:

    Hope this helps.

Ah very cool - thanks so much. That was the bit I was looking for...rotation...somehow 'projection' isn't what I had in mind when wanting to transform my patterns

Brand new to the software and looking to use it more for arch/visualization.  I have been searching high and low for any sort of tutorial on making a herringbone... unfortunately looking at your screenshots I am still just as lost. Oh well, I suppose it is just lack of knowledge with the software.  Wish the procedural texture generation had better documentation, feel like if you have not used this type of software before it just feels like the learning curve is a smooth flat wall with no hand holds.

Tried matching exactly what you have shown, but it only displays one of the groups not both. I can turn one off and it will show the other, but it would seem they both cant be visible at the same time. Want to rip my hair out, seems there is nothing i can find on the internet to help.

Seems like such great software, but it makes me feel like such a moron when they advertise it as simple and easy.  Ripped out half my hair already.

I also wanted to create this kind of pattern and have struggled with the instructions shown above. Then I figured out what I was missing. It's not shown on the images above, but I set the blend option for the second tile pattern to "add" and finally got both patterns to show XD. Probably a easy solution but it took me 2 hours to figure it out :). Not sure if this is the proper way to do this, but it worked for me so I'm sharing it if some else gets stuck here too.
