Clarisse Bridge feedbacks
PlannedHi,
I hope you are doing well.
I am currently playing with Clarisse bridge and I noticed a few things.
First, would it be possible to get streamed_map_file instead of mapFile, as thestreamed_map_file are usually faster to deal with.
Then, the displacement map is getting imported in .jpg format. I usually use the .exr you are providing because the jpg format is 8bits compare to the exr 32bits. We usually get better results with the 32bits.
I noticed than the resolution selection in Bridge is changing the color mode of the files. For instance, I downloaded an asset with 4k maps. When I try to import it in Clarisse with 2k maps (by selecting the 2k resolution option) the Roughness, AO, Specular and Cavity maps are now in color mode grey instead of RGB by default. It would be great to keep them as RGB if possible. For the Displacement map, it would be great to get a 2k version saved in .exr 32bits from the 4k file instead of .jpg.
Then, when I imported a 3dPlant, I had to turn the sideness option to "double" in Clarisse as it is set to "Single" by default.
Finally, the cherry on top of the cake would be to have a makeTx action option directly in Bridge to convert the maps in .tx (mipmap) before export... just an idea. I know there are other Clarisse scripts pre-existing but being able to do it before export would be great.
All these little adjustments can become really time-consuming when importing multiple assets/surfaces...
I hope not bothering you too much with these requests. If I had to prioritize one I would go for the .exr displacement map feature, please.
Thank you.

Hello,
Thank you for the great feedback! Many things are planned, including an update for the MSplugin for Clarisse. Unfortunately I'm unable to share any ETA but it's on the roadmap!
I can recommend you Yanik's CSK (Clarisse Survival Kit) in the meantime to convert your TX maps.
Cheers Thomas
