Blurry 8k texture 3dsMax with V-RayAnswered
Hello, I exported from Bridge to 3ds Max an 3d Asset, the texture seems blurry, I tried had some sharpness look, but if the image is a little bit close looks too blurry. I don't know if it's my settings or if I should do some changes on the model or even the material? I hope someone can help. Textures are 8k EXR and linear workflow. I'll had some images to show the issue, resolution is 2600x4000.
This is the original asset image from Bridge:
This is the exported asset without any modification:
Closeup of 25% of the same image:
I made some changes, used a Bump, add a displacement (Amount 1cm), and used Tesselation on the Mesh Element adding 50, got a more detailed look, atleast faraway, close details are blurred and when you do a closeup like 50% and 100% view:
When I do a 50% closeup:
When I do closeup render look like this (No Depth of Field):
My VRayDisplacementMod settings:
I think its strange, don't know if its normal or some setting? Because for a 2600x4000 the 100% should be the normal size but the details are not good:
Hope someone can help :D
Such assets are not made for close up. You'll need a higher resolution for that type of close up shots. Or re-texture the asset yourself.
That said, something else looks strange. It's hard to tell without all the information of your scene but make sure you have correct normal map settings, correct texture color management and nothing that can cause such artifacts.
Hope it helps
Hey Jin! I am having the same problem as well. I am working in Arnold + C4D, and my settings are correct, plus I’m doing Aces workflow. So why do the textures look like this? If you have an email I can reach you at, I want to discuss my issue in complete detail so you know every single thing. Do we need 8K texture instead of 4K to make it look like the original asset SS_Locus had?
In case you see this a little late, could you email me? Malikr27@gmail.com
