UV Mapping Not Right on Custom Asset Imported into Mixer?
AnsweredHey All, I've tried importing a custom asset (.FBX) into quixel mixer and it appears that my UV mapping is not working. I checked the maps in both Rhino 6 and 3dsMax. They both appear correct (see screenshots). However, when I apply my material within Mixer, it appears as though the UV Maps have not imported properly (see screenshot). Does anybody know why this might be the case? Thanks!

This would be happening because your UVs aren't set up correctly. I would recommend redoing them using best practices for UV layouts, and ensuring that all UV islands are uniformly scaled relative to one another with minimal or no distortion if possible. You'll also need to make sure that they're all contained within 0-1 space. This guide should assist you: https://www.creativebloq.com/features/uv-mapping-for-beginners

Mixer requires unflipped/unmirrored unique UVs contained within 0-1 space. It's impossible to tell from the Max Unwrap window whether you've filled the UV space entirely or if we're only looking at a small percentage of the 0-1 zone. I would also recommend straightening out UVs as noted by our old Suite UV guide: https://quixel.se/tutorial/uv-mapping-for-the-suite/
