Exported AO and height not matching
AnsweredHi,
Ive created a custom surface in mixer so I can start making my own library of materials. Ive authored the textures already and all I want to do is plug them into a custom surface and save as is. To test this worked correctly I then exported those maps assuming the output textures should match what I input, however they don't. Albedo, metalness, roughess and normals export fine however displacement/height and AO do not. They end up either too dark or too light. Is there a setting im missing or is this an issue with Mixer?
Ive attached a image of my export settings.
Thanks

Hello nononsenseLondon,
Thanks for following up with us. I'd be happy to take a look at the custom surfaces and the issue you're encountering while exporting them.
Please place all of your custom maps for this material into a folder, upload them to Google Drive, and place the link in the thread here.

Hey,
Ive attached a image to show the issue. Strength for both AO and displacement in mixer are at 1. At the moment all I want to be able to do is get the exported map from mixer to match the values of the imported maps. As you can see both are not exporting that way.
Thanks

Try changing the Blend to 1 or 2. I can't see your viewport (please don't crop images for troubleshooting purposes) but I'm assuming what's happening here is that the material is blending half-way into the default plane, which is normal behavior if you haven't adjusted the Blend Above/Below options in the Blend tab.

Hi,
As requested ive put the test textures into a folder on google drive for you:

All i want to achieve right now is to create a custom material with them in mixer with no adjustments and get exported maps that look like what was imported to create the material.
Thanks
- Chris
