Surface (or any) materials are not importing with displace map support - UE4 4.26
AnsweredMultiple issues
I wasted a whole day downloading assets before "finding out" about the displacement checkbox.
I checked the box and restarted my editor, started to import and 4 hours later I find out the check box doesn't save.
I then checked the box, deleted all the local content and started to import again and it just isn't making the master material or materials correctly.
Am I missing something?
Thanks,

Hi David Kimball! Thanks for the report! One of my support staff will be with you as soon as practicable to assist.

Hi Jonathan, people are having the same problem on this thread - you said the same thing about getting a support person to help but its been 4 days, should I expect a similar lack of response?
-
here is another thread with the same recommended work around, however the workaround "use MS_DefaultMaterial or MS_DefaultMaterial?" does not solve the problem as the MS_DefaultMaterial does not have a displacement texture parameter.

interesting, I would think the users of Unreal Engine being blocked for 14+ days would warrant a richer engagement than a copy paste "One of the support people will do something" responses.
its been a working day and no one has showed up to explain to this community why the asset pipeline is broken, or when its going to get fixed.
Please look into it?
Thanks,
David Kimball
