Megascans Models
AnsweredSo I am new here, I use Blender primarily, and am curious about the content. So as I understand it you can not sell Megascans models or textures but you can sell your own assets made with Mixer. So I have a few questions:
1. I have free access to the entire library because I downloaded UE, is it ok if I show and display scenes and art that use Megascans assets even if it was made entirely in blender as long as I am not selling anything?
2. I do a lot with computers and am always running and creating benchmark scenes in Blender, is it ok if I distribute a Blender scene that has Megascans assets in it as long as I do not collect profit from it? Like as a 50K YouTube sub special or a giveaway to supporters?
3. What are my options if I want to sell work that contains Megascans assets?

Usage within Blender as a primary destination for the assets requires a paid Personal plan via https://quixel.com/pricing. There is no situation where an Unreal Unlimited plan may be used with Blender as a primary rendering or asset management solution.
UU plan assets may not be sold or resold unless they're being distributed via the Unreal Engine Marketplace - and they must be significantly different than the original source data used to create the assets in question. -

- The assets that you acquire on the Unreal Unlimited plan requires that the end result be in UE4, in compliance with the Terms of usage (quixel.com/terms). Doing so otherwise is in violation of the EULA and can put you at risk of legal action.
- Distributing the assets themselves is not permitted under any circumstances. You'd need to make sure you avoid distributing the raw assets from Megascans and ensure that you don't provide them to end-users in an easily accessible format for artists to work from. You may provide a link to download the specific assets used from Quixel.com but distributing the assets themselves - modified or not - is not permissible currently.
- Selling or reselling Megascans assets is not permitted under any of our plans. You can sell projects that use the textures we provide but you cannot bundle them, e.g. selling a project without textures included but mentioning where they're from and what specific assets were used. However, it also depends on the plan you're on. If you're on Unreal Unlimited, your products need to be rendered in or use UE as the final destination point for the assets you've downloaded. Using Blender or any other non-UE product to render your images or produce works for sale is strictly forbidden, both legally and ethically speaking. If you're using other tools en-route to UE as a final destination, that's totally acceptable (e.g. modifying assets in 3DS Max, Photoshop, etc, then bringing into UE) but any other usage would not be.
If you're subbed to the Unreal plan and would like to use our assets in other software like Blender, we can assist you with cancellation of the plan so you can sub to the appropriate paid plan for your usage.

You mentioned that the models could be sold as long as the raw Megascans assets are not easily accessible and would be difficult to “rip” so to speak. So let’s say I made a model that has grass in it but I made it a non selectable object or something to that effect, then would I be permitted to sell?
