Exporting from maya to UE4
AnsweredHello all,
I have been using quixel with maya to build static-mesh assets that I then export to UE4 as an fbx type file. When I go to export from maya I receive the following error message:
The plug-in does not support the following material types:
Material Worn_Concrete_Wall_Mat will be exported as a grey Lambert material.
Material Dirty_Corrugated_Metal_Sheet_Mat will be exported as a grey Lambert material.
This just exports the material as a grey_lambert in UE4 which is less than ideal. In Maya I see the object is imported as a standard surface. Is there a way to export the object to UE4 and preserve the quixel material?

We're generally not able to provide technical assistance for Unreal Engine unless it relates to Bridge or Mixer - in this situation I'd just recommend reconnecting the material manually on import. It should only take a few moments at most in the popup dialog that appears when you import an asset into the engine.
