If I create a Decal or mat and a mask stack everything works normally. However a problem exists if you duplicate that layer. You can only access the mask in the duplicated layer if the original layer's visibility is on. In some instances it will break the UV tile projection of the entire layer and make it look like an awful mess so I will have to close and reopen Mixer.
I see a number of layer mask bug posts in the thread so perhaps it is all connected. Hope this helps.
