Hi! I'm a programmer/crowds lead who has experience designing UIs, simulated crowds, and a whole lot of complex issues that pop up in my field. I'm using quixel bridge to accomplish a bootcamp in unreal.
One of the steps I'm taking is to import 6gigs of turbosquid zipped assets, provided to me via the competition. I'm using your "import assets" pane within quixel bridge. This pane, from what I can tell should simply be fetching and parsing info into strings to fill the appropriate fields. However editing those fields causes the program to become unresponsive, while not causing prompts to crash. The program isn't frozen. it just seems to be ... thinking?
I'll put the reproduction steps below:
I import 1 zipped asset that's about 63mb. Takes 25 seconds for the import pane to show up, that's fine. I click within the name text field. I wait 25 seconds for interactivity, not fine. I spell the name wrong(human error right?), I alt tab to google to check spelling. I click back into bridge's name text field and I'm not waiting, that's good! However, once I start typing, I'm waiting another 25 seconds for the pane to become responsive again. That's bad.
I think we can agree with quixel bridge being incredibly useful. However, this is my least favorite issue right now. I know that if you're attempting to fix this, I will be stuck using this UI in the painful way I outlined above until its resolved. Are there any workarounds that I can use at this time?
