Smart Materials aren't able to be exported to the library. They are Mixer-only materials.

So, then why is there a button called export to library? They why is it, that I am successfully able to export 5 other maps (metalness, ambient occlusion, glossy, roughness, specular). Why keep 5 maps and leave 4 out? I am confused. I just don't see the point in having a button filling up space, if it isn't supposed to do anything anyway.

That's an option for exporting regular textures and eventually 3D assets. The option exists as a file menu option in Mixer but is not applicable in this situation.

Well then maybe you could turn it into an actual feature for any future updates. Would be so much more useful.

As mentioned, Smart Materials only work in Mixer. It's not possible for them to work outside of Mixer. If you'd like to export custom-made textures to the library for use elsewhere via automation in Bridge, it's best to avoid creating them as Smart Materials in the current beta of Mixer. You can also export these textures out and manually bring them into Bridge which is a short process.
