So I've been trying to use Quixel Mixer to replace my workflow I used with Quixel Suite, as ostensibly that's what I'm being told is the purpose of Mixer, but it seems to lack a lot of what I loved about NDO.
I could make vector shapes for normals using photoshop and then change how they worked on the fly by adjusting sliders, and do this non-destrucively. As far as I can tell there is no replication of this process in Mixer currently, or am I missing some functionality?
I seems like I can only paint normals using a brush tool, or use black and white raster images as masks. This is not even close to the functionality of NDO Painter, so it seems very premature to be sunsetting the old program when you can't do major functions it did so well.
Can anyone let me know if I'm missing something, or if there will be support for this kind of non-destructive vector based normal creation in the future?
