So, this description will be a little long, apologies, but it is required to understand my problem I swear!
So I've been working in Mixer 21.1.1. I've got a multi-object, ~36-material character model I've been painting for the last few days. Everything was going fine up until yesterday, for when I duplicated and moved a smart material I was using from one layer channel to another, the 3D viewport froze up. The GUI was still responding, however, so I decided to restart Mixer to reset the 3D viewport. I didn't think much of it, so I saved and quit.
Upon reopening my mix, assets load fine, but the "Adding Layers" bar in the lower left corner is stuck at "0 of 71". Once all the assets and custom sources load, the GUI grays-out (waiting for the layers to be added I assume), and then it proceeds to sit there. In task manager, I also get see an instance of "UnityCrashHandler64.exe" running under Mixer.
I changed nothing about my environment or hardware in between the crash and the now.
I notice that the mix files are saved as XML's, I wonder if I could go into it and delete the last smart material I added? It's ultimately my fault for not saving back-ups (I assumed erroneously that Mixer had auto-save/auto-backup functionality, which it appears it does not), but if there is any possibility of recovering this mix without losing the last 4 days of work painting it, that would be ideal!
