So this is a fix incase anyone has this issue, I had a problem where once I installed and enabled the Megascans plugin, my engine was complaining that my plugin was built for a different engine version, even though going through everything it looked correct!
This might not be the fix for your specific issue, but this should fix the complaint from the editor about missing modules once installed
Below is the fix:
I went to my installed engine location of Unreal Engine 4.27, on my machine its here:
I then searched for the a module file, in particular I opened the 'UE4Editor.Modules' file
You can use notepad to open this file and edit it
I copied this ringed value to my clipboard, I suspect other peoples buildid's might differ from mine?
After copying that ,number to clipboard, I then went to the quixel megascans plugin binaries location, on my machine it is here:
I again opened the module file using notepad to find the buildid number, and pasted my engine module buildid over the top of the existing number in the megascans plugin modules file.
That's it, I did this with the RTXGI plugin also, as that had the same issue, and it fixed that too.
I'm not sure what happened here, but this fixed my issues :)
I hope this helps
