Blender 3.0 Plugin Support
CompletedHey there :)
Just wanted to make a post about Blender 3.0....as pretty much everyone using Blender will have either moved over to 3.0 by now or will in the near future (since it is a major update and the main stable release).
Last I checked the Bridge plugin for Blender does not fully support Blender 3.0 yet. Will this be added in the near future? The plugin can export to 3.0 without issue already, it's just that the material exports target the wrong channels, sometimes miss textures, and adds clearcoat unnecessarily. It's not a huge deal, but it is a big time sink - and since 3.0 is out now, the 2.9 Plugin version isn't that useful and should maybe even be deprecated. Older versions of Blender are really not super relevant any more since 3.0 has added a completely new much better/faster render engine, geometry nodes, asset libraries, and a hundred other QOL features (and since .blend files made in 3.0 are also backwards compatible to older versions, there is really no reason to ever use older blender versions as your mainstay application any more - I currently don't know anyone who is still using 2.93).

Hello Murkar,
Thanks for taking the time to write in! We hear what you're saying; however, please note that we're unable to provide any details about anything that hasn't been publicly released. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused!

Hey there -
Sorry to re-up this - but I just wanted to check in if there are any updates about whether Bridge will continue to support current versions of Blender. I know you already responded to this thread, but it has been quite a while since then. In fact it's been long enough now that 3.0 isn't even the current release any more, we are now onto version 3.1.
Cheers!
