How to install Bridge to another Hard drive other than forced C in 2022
AnsweredBasic question since the 80s...
How can I chose the installation harddrive (directory) for Bridge installer?
Please do not say:
Please do not say we can't. The question is How to. Thus if we currently cannot, then please bring this to the attention of your devs (and Epic), and fix your installer so we can. I can't use your product for UE5 (can't update), until you fix this. Ty.
This is unacceptable. It is 2022. Why do you companies think you can get way with not giving the user options of where to install?????
Here is the reason why you can't force install to C drive:
I already had Bridge installed and had space months ago. Now I have 7 gigs left.
But now you did an update. I clicked install, and Windows/your installer robbed me of 7 gigs!!!!!! My C drive when down to 200MB, and install failed!!!!!!
So I uninstalled Bridge. Downloaded the new installer to another drive with 2 TB free!!! I clicked the installer, and it automatically re installed to C drive which defeats the purpose!!!!!
I'm not going to play Windows or Bridge politics on my computer (where they think Windows C drive knows best and robs 7 GB from me without my consent - locking up my system from running, because windows demands FREE HARD DRIVE space to run/process temp files).
Do you understand that Windows 10 force installs bloatware and updates without the owner's consent? Thus forcing your install to the C drive, is already a bad idea - since Windows 10 C drive is not a reliable store of value!
So fix this. You're a million $ company, and you put in a lot of work to do the Megascans. So stop refusing to fix the basics of offering a computer program - install path option.

Hello Xgame,
Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. We appreciate your feedback and I assure you that our developers are aware of this request from our users.
The reason Bridge is, as of now, required to install to the C:\ drive is that it requires Admin authentification. Any application that does not have Administrator privilege is not allowed to write in Program Files due to security features in Windows (UAC).
I apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused!
