Metahuman Bridge to Maya 2022 - Poor Rig Performance
AnsweredI'm hoping to get some help with performance with the Metahuman rig in Maya 2022. From talking with others, the performance shouldn't be poor - but it chugs quite significantly moving controllers... This is a fresh installation of Maya 2022, my PC specs are quite high, and I haven't historically had any performance issues with other rigs in Maya, though I was using 2023 previously, and switched to using 2022 so that the plugin would be functional. The performance settings are what you would expect as it's default, Parallel with GPU override and include controllers in evaluation graph checked.
I got this script: https://www.artstation.com/marketplace/p/ojKbP/metahuman-body-control-rig-python-script so I could create a full rig from it. Speaking to the creator of this, the performance I am having is not usual, and it should be practical to move controllers and do animation without it being unbearably slow. Just to reiterate, the poor performance is already happening with just the face rig from Bridge.
So I've tried opening the .ma file in 2023, and it does run a LOT smoother... but the entire rig is rotated 90 degrees, I assume there was a big change between the two versions, and there may be other issues with using it, so that's not really feasible.
It would be great to hear a solution for this. Thanks
Edit: Just to go over some other things I've tried, I've also completely removed textures, tried DX11 renderer, tried default lighting, all of which did not help at all.
Edit 2: Also tried having only highest LODs (lowest quality) in the scene. Doesn't help.
